Media Groups Sue Trump Media Over Paid Early-Access API
Two media organizations filed a federal lawsuit in Manhattan seeking to block Trump Media's paid API that provides early, real-time access to President Donald J. Trump's Truth Social posts, arguing that the service violates the First and Fifth Amendments and creates an unfair market advantage. Trump Media & Technology Group introduced the subscription service earlier this year, offering subscribers high-speed access to the president's posts, as reported by The Boston Globe.
The Intercept and the Freedom of the Press Foundation were among the plaintiffs, alleging constitutional violations, a claim detailed by CNN. The complaint also contends the service gives the company an unfair market advantage, according to NPR.
