The fourth season premiere of "Ted Lasso" generated 296.6 million viewing minutes in the United States during its August 4-5 launch window, marking the biggest debut for Apple TV+.

Apple TV+ reported that the season-four premiere of "Ted Lasso" accumulated 296.6 million viewing minutes in the United States across its August 4 and 5 launch window, according to Nielsen data. On August 5 alone, the episode was the most-streamed program in the country, exceeding 200 million minutes. Apple said the launch represents the largest debut for any Apple TV+ title.

The strong opening may be enough to place the series in Nielsen’s streaming Top 10 for the week, although the weekly rankings do not differentiate between new and existing seasons. The show returns after a multi-year break; its third season, originally intended as the finale, logged 16.9 billion minutes across 24 episodes in 2023, making it the most-watched streaming original of that year despite Apple TV+ having a smaller subscriber base than competing platforms.

Season 4 follows Ted Lasso as he coaches a second-division women’s football team in Richmond. The cast includes returning members Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift, as well as newcomers such as Tanya Reynolds and Jude Mack. Jason Sudeikis stars and serves as an executive producer alongside a team that includes Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, Bill Wrubel and others. The series was developed by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly and Hunt, based on characters originally created for NBC Sports.
