Saudi PIF, Silver Lake and Kushner-backed Affinity Partners Finalize $55 B EA Take-Private Deal
The investor consortium led by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, along with Silver Lake and Jared Kushner’s Affinity Partners, completed the $55 billion acquisition of Electronic Arts on 5 August, resulting in the video-game publisher’s delisting from Nasdaq. The deal, first announced in early July, secured all required regulatory approvals, according to Variety, and was slated to close around 4 August, as the company said.
The transaction was an all-cash offer of $210 per share, with EA assuming about $18 billion of debt, as reported by Eurogamer. The acquisition ends EA’s 35-year history as a public company while keeping CEO Andrew Wilson and its Redwood City headquarters in place.
