Mitch McConnell Returns Home, Plans Remote Senate Work
Senator Mitch McConnell returned home on August 9 after being discharged from a rehabilitation facility and said he will continue his Senate duties from his residence while undergoing physical therapy, according to the BBC. His staff declined to discuss his health, the Daily Beast reported.
According to the Daily Beast, McConnell missed the annual Fancy Farm political picnic in Kentucky after being hospitalized for a June fall, prompting Governor Andy Beshear to note the lack of criticism for his prolonged absence. Earlier, his aides had declined repeated requests for a video update on his condition, and Republican colleagues Rand Paul and Susan Collins also avoided commenting.
