Kansas Mother Discharged After Severe Spider Bite Complications, Awaits Liver Transplant
KSL. com reported that Britagne Miller, a mother from Goddard, Kansas, was discharged to home care on August 8, 2026 after surviving severe complications from a spider bite and multiple surgeries, and she remains awaiting a liver transplant.
Earlier reports said she was bitten by a suspected brown recluse spider while at Cheney Lake, which led to swelling, blood clots and end-stage liver failure requiring several operations. A GoFundMe campaign was launched to cover medical expenses, raising most of its target, and ABC7 noted that her pre-existing health conditions worsened the outcome.
