Apple's Foldable iPhone Ultra Expected to Challenge Samsung's Z Fold 8
According to 9to5Mac, Apple is expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone, dubbed the iPhone Ultra, with a 5. 5-inch outer display and a 7. 6-inch inner display, and analysts cited by The Verge estimate the device could capture about one-third of the foldable-phone market in its first year, directly challenging Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8. Earlier reports from 9to5Mac said production of the device is in its final stages at Foxconn and detailed its book-style hinge, dual screens, A20 Pro processor, Touch ID and an anticipated launch price near $2,000.
The same outlet projected a start-up price range of $1,350-$1,400. MacRumors noted that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models will feature larger batteries, LTPO+ displays and the new A20 chip, while analyst Jeff Pu warned of a $250-$300 price increase driven by higher component costs. 9to5Mac also indicated Apple may stagger its iPhone 18 announcements, unveiling some models later this year and the rest in a subsequent spring event to avoid crowding its annual launch schedule.
