Seoul High Court Orders $645 Million Divorce Payment
A Seoul high court ordered SK Group chairman Chey Tae-won to pay his former wife Roh Soh-yeong 944 billion won, the largest divorce award in South Korea, and noted concerns about how the payment would be financed, Fox Business reported. Earlier, the New York Post had said a court was expected to rule on the couple’s assets with a payout that could near $1 billion. Subsequently, Newser reported that an appeals court ordered Chey to pay roughly $645 million, ending a ten-year legal dispute over the division of his holdings.
