Polls show Trump’s support erodes over Iran war
A July AP-NORC poll found that two-thirds of U. S. adults consider the war with Iran unwarranted and that President Donald Trump’s handling of the conflict earned just 28% approval.
Earlier surveys showed a similar pattern of opposition: a Reuters/Ipsos poll reported that only about a third of Americans supported the war while nearly two-thirds opposed it, and MS NOW polls indicated a growing share of self-identified MAGA supporters viewing the conflict as too costly. The Boston Globe noted that the resumed strikes on Iran and new tariffs on Canadian goods pushed gasoline prices higher, prompting criticism from Democrats and unease among some Republicans ahead of the midterm elections.
