OpenAI launches ChatGPT Health feature as lawsuits over medical advice continue
OpenAI introduced a new Health section in its ChatGPT chatbot that allows users to upload medical records and connect the service to Apple Health, as the firm confronts lawsuits claiming the AI gave unsafe medical advice. The rollout follows a nationwide launch of the ChatGPT Health assistant for U.
S. adults, and comes after two legal actions were filed: a Florida plaintiff alleges the chatbot’s recommendations contributed to a pulmonary embolism, seeking damages and an injunction, and a separate wrongful-death suit claims the system played a role in a 29-year-old woman’s suicide.
