Brewers trade for Lance McCullers Jr., activate him to bullpen
MLB. com reported that the Milwaukee Brewers acquired right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. and left-hander Colton Gordon from the Houston Astros in a deal that sent Single-A outfielder Jadyn Fielder to Houston, with the Astros also covering part of McCullers' remaining salary.
The trade gave Milwaukee additional starting-pitcher depth as the club dealt with injuries, according to Brew Crew Ball. MLB Trade Rumors said the Brewers subsequently activated McCullers from the injured list and assigned him to the bullpen, while optioning left-hander Jared Koenig to Triple-A to make room on the roster.
