Apple releases fourth developer betas of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27

Summary

Apple has made the fourth beta versions of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 available to registered developers, two weeks after the third betas were issued.

Apple has seeded the fourth beta builds of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 for developer testing, following the release of the third betas two weeks earlier. Registered developers can obtain the updates through the Settings app on iPhone or iPad by navigating to General → Software Update.

The new iOS 27 release adds an AI-enhanced version of Siri, described as a chatbot that draws on general knowledge, personal data from apps such as Messages and Mail, and on-screen context to answer queries. Additional Apple Intelligence features appear in Photos, Safari, Shortcuts, Wallet and Passwords, and a dedicated Siri app now houses conversation history. A system-wide "Write with Siri" tool can generate text or provide writing feedback, while Visual Intelligence has moved to the Camera app with a new Siri mode.

Apple also updated the appearance of the Liquid Glass interface and introduced a slider for adjusting transparency. Performance enhancements aim to speed up app launches, AirDrop transfers, keyboard response and network transitions between Wi-Fi and cellular connections.
