Apple launches iOS 27 Public Beta 2 with Siri and lock-screen upgrades
Apple announced plans to release a public beta of iOS 27 later in the week, promising a conversational Siri AI limited to newer iPhone models, Yahoo Tech reported. The same week, 9to5Mac noted that the beta included a dedicated Siri app that syncs across devices and is restricted to models supporting Apple Intelligence. Later, Apple made the fourth developer beta (build 23G71) available to registered developers, highlighting further Siri AI enhancements, according to 9to5Mac.
MacRumors confirmed the release of the fourth developer betas for both iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, two weeks after the third betas were issued. Geeky Gadgets reported that Apple subsequently released iOS 27 Public Beta 2, which introduced uniform lock-screen icons, new Siri accents, updated Control Center options and bug fixes carried over from the prior beta. The update also refined visual elements and functional tweaks across the system, completing the latest public testing round.
