The swimmer was bitten on the foot by an unknown marine animal at Jones Beach State Park according to The New York Times. The bite caused a laceration that required treatment at Nassau County University Medical Center, and state park officials temporarily closed the beach while continuing shark surveillance with drones, the paper said.
