Albanian prosecutors investigate Kushner-backed resort land sale for trafficking

Albanian prosecutors opened a criminal investigation into Artur Shehu, a Miami-based U. S. –Albanian citizen, over alleged drug-trafficking, money-laundering and falsified financial documents linked to a coastal land sale for a resort backed by Jared Kushner. CBS News reported that the investigation centers on the sale of the parcel to Albania Land Development LLC, an investment vehicle that includes Kushner among its backers.

The prosecutors allege that Shehu used falsified paperwork to conceal the proceeds of the transaction. The case remains in the preliminary investigation stage, according to the same report. Officials declined to provide further comment on the matter.
