Trump signs 'Lulu's Law' creating shark-attack alert system
According to AP News, President Donald Trump signed legislation dubbed “Lulu’s Law” that directs the Federal Communications Commission to enable emergency alerts for shark attacks. The law, named after the teenage survivor, requires the FCC to add shark-attack warnings to the nation’s existing emergency alert system. The measure was championed by 15-year-old Lulu Gribbin, who survived a shark attack off the Alabama coast.
Senator Katie Britt of Alabama sponsored the bill in Congress. The signing makes the United States the first country to create a dedicated shark-attack alert capability.
