Hundreds of Dog Remains Found at Humboldt County Sanctuary
Humboldt County officials said they uncovered at least 117 canine bodies, many bearing gunshot wounds, at the Miranda’s Rescue animal sanctuary in Northern California. ABC7 Bay Area reported that investigators found the remains during a search that expanded a probe into possible animal cruelty and fraud. The Guardian added that more than 600 dog collars were also recovered at the site.
BBC noted that the discovery came as authorities continued to investigate the disappearance of hundreds of other animals from the facility. The sheriff’s office confirmed the criminal investigation remains ongoing, with officials planning further forensic analysis.
