U.S. Airstrikes Hit Iranian Sites After Drone Attack on Tanker, Prompting Iranian Retaliation
The United States carried out airstrikes against Iranian missile, drone storage facilities and coastal radar sites in the Strait of Hormuz after a drone from Iran struck the commercial tanker Ever Lovely, CNBC reported. U. S. Central Command said the attacks targeted surveillance, communications and air-defence installations. Al Jazeera noted that the strikes breached a recently signed cease-fire agreement.
