Hornets trade LaMelo Ball and Josh Green to Timberwolves
The Charlotte Hornets traded point guard LaMelo Ball and forward Josh Green to the Minnesota Timberwolves for forward Naz Reid and a package of future draft picks, according to ESPN. Earlier reports from HoopsRumors indicated that the Hornets were in discussions about moving Ball, with the Timberwolves, Toronto Raptors and Milwaukee Bucks listed among the clubs showing interest. Those talks preceded the final agreement.
The trade details disclosed by ESPN and SB Nation include a 2033 first-round pick, three first-round swap rights and three second-round selections heading to Minnesota. The Stein Line noted that the transaction was confirmed in early July as the league approached free agency.
