Lexington Trainer’s Body Identified, Autopsy Finds No Clear Cause of Death
Lexington police and South Carolina state officials said the remains recovered near a gym in Lexington belong to 39-year-old personal trainer Elena Katherine Moore, who had been reported missing after leaving the facility. The body, discovered by officers conducting a search for the missing trainer, matched the clothing she was known to wear, according to ABC News. A week before she was reported missing, a Ring doorbell video captured Moore appearing disoriented as she tried to enter a neighbor’s home, NewsNation reported.
South Carolina Law Enforcement Division officials confirmed the identification, while the New York Post noted that authorities were awaiting coroner confirmation at the time. A preliminary autopsy performed by the state coroner found no external injuries and did not reveal an obvious cause of death, TMZ reported, and investigators said additional testing is needed.
