12 Killed in Missouri Skydiving Plane Crash Near Butler
A private skydiving aircraft operated by Skydive Kansas City crashed shortly after takeoff from Butler Memorial Airport in Missouri, killing the pilot and 11 skydivers. According to AP News, the plane caught fire and all 12 aboard were killed. NBC News reported that officials presumed all twelve occupants dead.
The Guardian identified the aircraft as a Pacific Aerospace P750 (750XL) used for the jump flight. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration opened investigations, with federal investigators dispatched to the site, as noted by KMBC.
