President Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social account that a deal with Iran to end the conflict is slated for signing on Sunday and that the Strait of Hormuz will be "open to all" immediately afterward. He added that the agreement would be finalized the next day.
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, responded earlier on Saturday, stating that a signing date had not yet been set and that it would not occur the following day, though he said a signing in the coming days could not be ruled out.
Both sides and mediators have indicated that negotiations, which have been stalled for weeks, may be nearing a conclusion.
