Crown Princess' son sentenced to four years after appeal court blocks release
Oslo’s Court of Appeal rejected Marius Borg Høiby’s request to be released from custody, ruling that he must remain detained while his trial on drug and assault charges proceeded, Bored Panda reported. The court’s decision came as Høiby sought to be near his ailing mother, Crown Princess Mette-Marit. A few days later, the Oslo District Court sentenced Høiby to four years in prison for two rape counts, AP News said.
NPR noted that he was acquitted of two additional rape charges. The BBC added that the court also ordered him to pay compensation to the victims.
