Aimee Bock Sentenced to Nearly 42 Years for $250 Million Fraud Scheme
Aimee Bock, former head of Feeding Our Future, received a nearly 42-year prison sentence for orchestrating a $250 million fraud scheme involving federal child nutrition funds during the pandemic.
Aimee Bock, former executive director of the Minnesota nonprofit Feeding Our Future, has been sentenced to nearly 42 years in prison for orchestrating a $250 million fraud scheme. The organization falsely claimed to provide meals to children during the COVID-19 pandemic, submitting fraudulent food distribution claims and using fabricated sites and lists of children. Bock and her co-conspirators used the misappropriated funds for personal expenses, including real estate and luxury travel.
U.S. District Judge Nancy Brasel described Bock as being at the "epicenter" of the fraud. Federal prosecutors had sought a 50-year sentence, emphasizing the severity of the crimes and the need for deterrence.
The case has led to charges against nearly 80 individuals, with over 60 already convicted or having pleaded guilty. Additionally, 15 more individuals were recently charged in Minnesota for defrauding Medicaid and other social service programs, involving over $90 million.
Authorities have pledged to recover the stolen funds and prevent future abuses of federal programs.
