SpaceX has appointed Goldman Sachs as the lead underwriter for its forthcoming initial public offering (IPO), according to individuals familiar with the matter. Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Citigroup, and JPMorgan Chase will also serve as underwriters in the offering. The company confidentially filed its IPO prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission last month and is expected to make it public soon. The IPO is anticipated to be one of the largest in history, with SpaceX recently valued at $1.25 trillion following its merger with xAI, Elon Musk's artificial intelligence startup, in February. SpaceX did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Historically, only a few technology companies have achieved valuations exceeding $100 billion on their first day of trading on U.S. exchanges. The upcoming IPO is expected to set a new benchmark in the industry.
