Meteorite Struck Houston Home During U.S. Fireball Surge
A resident in the Houston area reported that a meteorite fragment crashed through her roof, causing damage but no injuries. This event followed reports of a bright fireball and loud booms heard in the region, suggesting the meteorite fragmented in the atmosphere before striking the home.
The meteorite impact coincided with a surge of fireball sightings across the United States in recent days. Authorities, including local fire officials and NASA, noted the event as part of a broader pattern of increased meteor activity, with the meteorite causing a pressure wave and structural damage to the residence in Bammel, Texas.
