Hillary Clinton Denies Knowledge of Epstein's Crimes in House Testimony

Résumé

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testified before the House Oversight Committee, stating she had no knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein's criminal activities and had never met him.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testified before the House Oversight Committee on Thursday, asserting she had no knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein's criminal activities and had never met him.

In her opening statement, Clinton stated, "I had no idea about their criminal activities. I do not recall ever encountering Mr. Epstein." She acknowledged knowing Epstein's associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, "casually as an acquaintance," noting that Maxwell attended her daughter's wedding as a guest of another invitee.

The closed-door deposition, held in Chappaqua, New York, was briefly interrupted when Representative Lauren Boebert shared an unauthorized photo of Clinton during the session, violating House rules. Clinton criticized the committee's decision to hold the proceedings privately, expressing a preference for a public hearing.

Clinton also accused the committee of using her testimony to divert attention from President Donald Trump's alleged involvement with Epstein. She suggested that a serious investigation would directly question the president under oath about his connections to Epstein.

Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to testify before the committee on Friday. He has previously acknowledged flying on Epstein's private plane but denied visiting Epstein's island or having knowledge of his criminal activities.
