iPhone 18 Pro Models Expected to Feature 12GB RAM

Summary

Analysts predict that Apple's upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models will be equipped with 12GB of RAM, matching the current iPhone 17 Pro lineup.

Apple's forthcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models are anticipated to include 12GB of RAM, consistent with the current iPhone 17 Pro series. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously projected that all new iPhone models released this year would feature 12GB of RAM, encompassing the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the rumored iPhone Fold. Analyst Jeff Pu has also indicated that the iPhone 18 Pro models and iPhone Fold will be equipped with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

Reports suggest that even the standard iPhone 18 may receive an upgrade to 12GB of RAM, an increase from the 8GB found in the standard iPhone 17. This move would align the base model with the Pro variants in terms of memory capacity.

Apple is expected to release the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September 2026. However, the standard iPhone 18 is not anticipated to be announced until around March 2027, as the company reportedly shifts to a new two-phase launch strategy.

The iPhone 18 Pro's A20 Pro chip is rumored to integrate RAM directly onto the chip's wafer alongside the CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine, rather than placing it adjacent to the chip and connecting it with a silicon interposer. This design could enhance RAM performance and efficiency, particularly for Apple Intelligence tasks.
