Elizabeth Holmes' X account shares selfie as documentary trailer gains attention
A social media account linked to Elizabeth Holmes posted a makeup selfie with a kiss, while a trailer for a new documentary about the former Theranos CEO has attracted millions of views.
A social media account associated with former Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes posted a selfie showing her in full makeup and blowing a kiss, accompanied by the caption “The answer to every challenge lies in your heart.”
The post, which has been viewed more than 7 million times since it was shared on Sunday, includes replies that mimic Holmes’ voice, such as a comment about a snake ring being “from a Taylor Swift merch stand” and a response indicating her location as “Bryan Federal Prison Camp.”
According to NPR, the account is operated by Holmes’ longtime partner Billy Evans, because Holmes does not have internet access while serving an 11-year sentence for defrauding investors.
Holmes, 42, is also the subject of a new documentary titled “You Can See Everything,” directed by comedian Nathan and filmmaker Lance Oppenheim. The trailer released last week shows footage from the weeks before Holmes reported to prison in May 2023 and follows her story over a three-year production period.
Holmes was convicted in January 2022 on one count of conspiracy to defraud investors and three counts of wire fraud, receiving a sentence of 11 years and three months. She and former Theranos president Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani were ordered to pay more than $452 million in restitution. Holmes founded Theranos at age 19, promoting a blood-testing technology that was later found to be unreliable, leading to the company’s collapse after a valuation of roughly $9 billion.
“The answer to every challenge lies in your heart,” the post reads.
