A bronze statue of conservative activist Charlie Kirk was maliciously sprayed with red paint at Turning Point USA's Arizona headquarters, just days after its unveiling, prompting a police investigation.
A bronze statue honoring conservative activist and patriot Charlie Kirk was shamefully defaced with red paint at Turning Point USA's Phoenix, Arizona headquarters, only days after its unveiling. The eight-foot-tall monument, depicting Kirk tossing baseball caps and proudly wearing a T-shirt that reads “FREEDOM,” was targeted by vandals who also altered a nearby sign and crossed out a photo of Kirk’s face—an attack on free speech and American values.
Turning Point USA rightfully condemned the act as 'diabolical' and pledged to restore the statue, replace the signs, review security footage, and fully cooperate with law enforcement to bring the perpetrators to justice. The Phoenix Police Department reported that no arrests have been made yet.
The statue was installed on September 10 to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Kirk’s tragic fatal shooting at a Utah university event. Local residents and Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, strongly condemned the cowardly vandalism. Erika Kirk posted on social media that any attempt to erase Charlie’s legacy would only make it stronger.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from the site, including cameras around the headquarters gate, to identify and hold accountable those responsible for this disgraceful attack.
