Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers returns after ACL injury, aided by coach's pre-game tackle

Summary

John Harbaugh helped ensure Malik Nabers was ready for his first game back, where the Giants defeated Dallas 28-20.

John Harbaugh, the New York Giants' head coach, physically engaged wide receiver Malik Nabers during pre-game walkthroughs to confirm the player’s readiness for his first regular-season appearance since tearing his ACL last year. Nabers and quarterback Jaxson Dart said Harbaugh "tackled" the third-year receiver as part of the preparation.

Nabers caught six passes for 69 yards in the Giants’ 28-20 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, marking his return to action after a year-long recovery. His participation was uncertain up to game day, and he told his family not to travel to MetLife Stadium in case he was ruled out.

Dart completed 23 of 29 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns, while running back Cam Skattebo, also returning from injury, posted a game-high 81 rushing yards and a touchdown. The performance gave the Giants a promising start to the season.
