Powerball Jackpot Reaches $1.3 Billion After No Winner in Latest Drawing
The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $1.3 billion following Monday's drawing without a grand prize winner.
The Powerball jackpot has surged to an estimated $1.3 billion after no ticket matched all six numbers in Monday night's drawing. The winning numbers were 8, 23, 25, 40, 53, and the red Powerball 5.
This marks the 40th consecutive drawing without a jackpot winner since May 31, making it the fifth-largest prize in Powerball history. The next drawing is scheduled for Wednesday night.
Players can choose between an annuity option, providing the full $1.3 billion paid over 30 years, or a lump-sum cash payout estimated at $589 million before taxes. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
Despite no jackpot winner, two tickets sold in Montana and North Carolina matched all five white balls and included the Power Play option, each winning $2 million. Additionally, ten tickets matched all five white balls to win $1 million prizes; these were sold in California, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey (2), New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and are available in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held three times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
