Police Detain Brian Hickerson After Bar Altercation in Greenville, Brother Charged with Disorderly Conduct
Brian Hickerson was handcuffed and released by Greenville police following a dispute at a local bar, while his brother Zach Hickerson was arrested for disorderly conduct. The incident occurred amid ongoing investigations into the death of actress Hayden Panettiere.
Greenville police responded to a disturbance at the Wild Wing Cafe on Saturday night, where Brian Hickerson and his brother Zach were involved in an altercation with other patrons. Video obtained by media shows Brian being lifted and escorted out of the venue as staff attempted to intervene.
Officers placed Brian in handcuffs and questioned him; he reportedly shouted that police had leaked information about his girlfriend's death. He was subsequently released without charge. Zach, described as highly intoxicated, was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to jail.
The incident follows earlier reports that Zach discovered the body of actress Hayden Panettiere in the couple's Greenville apartment on August 16. According to statements, Brian administered Narcan after finding her unresponsive, but she could not be revived. The cause and manner of Panettiere's death have not been released, and the Drug Enforcement Administration has opened an investigation.
