Warner mocks Rams' pre-game comments after 49ers' 27-7 victory in Melbourne
San Francisco linebacker Fred Warner posted an Instagram clip of Rams coach Sean McVay’s remarks about the team’s rest before the 49ers’ 27-7 win in Australia, saying the 49ers grew stronger while the Rams faded.
The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Los Angeles Rams 27-7 on Thursday in Melbourne, a game in which the 49ers arrived a week early while the Rams traveled from Australia only two days before kickoff. After the win, linebacker Fred Warner posted an Instagram video showing Rams head coach Sean McVay’s pre-game comment that the Rams were “well rested.” Warner captioned the post with “Google Me” and referenced teammate Daejon Love.
During the post-game press conference, Warner said the 49ers “got stronger” as the game progressed and that the Rams “withered away.” The Rams’ seven points were their lowest total since Week 9 of the 2023 season.
"We felt like we got stronger throughout the game, and they just withered away," Warner said.
The contrasting travel schedules and the decisive victory highlighted the 49ers’ preparation and execution in the international matchup.
