Man arrested in Las Vegas after alleged masked harassment in Philadelphia
Zymire Hughes, 22, was detained in Las Vegas and returned to Philadelphia, where he faces charges of terroristic threats, harassment and simple assault related to incidents in Center City.
Zymire Hughes, 22, was brought before a Philadelphia court on Sunday after authorities located and arrested him in Las Vegas on August 25. He is being held on a $100,000 bail pending further proceedings. Prosecutors allege that Hughes pursued and harassed individuals in Center City during early-morning hours while wearing a mask resembling the character Chucky. The charges filed against him include terroristic threats, harassment and simple assault.
"The suspect's actions created a significant public safety concern," a police spokesperson said. Hughes' arrest follows a multi-jurisdictional investigation that linked the Las Vegas apprehension to the Philadelphia incidents.
