Cardinals name Tyler Allgeier starter, list rookie Jeremiyah Love as backup for Week 1
Arizona's depth chart shows Tyler Allgeier as the starting running back, with rookie Jeremiyah Love listed as the second option for the opening game against the Chargers.
Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur said he is confident that rookie running back Jeremiyah Love will be active for the season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, though his exact role remains uncertain after recovering from an ankle injury. The team's first regular-season depth chart lists Tyler Allgeier as the No. 1 running back, with Love designated as the No. 2 and Bam Knight as the third option. Love missed the preseason after hurting his ankle in the first summer game, and while his usage could increase if he replicates his production from Notre Dame, the Cardinals have currently positioned Allgeier as the starter.
"I feel good about having Jeremiyah in the lineup," LaFleur said.
