Buccaneers sign quarterback Baker Mayfield to three-year, $165 million extension through 2029
Tampa Bay announced a three-year contract extension for quarterback Baker Mayfield, valued at $165 million and extending his deal through the 2029 season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers confirmed on Tuesday that quarterback Baker Mayfield has agreed to a three-year extension worth approximately $165 million, keeping him under contract through the 2029 season. The deal follows a one-year, $4 million contract in 2023 and a three-year, $100 million extension signed in 2024.
Owner Joel Glazer said the agreement reflects the organization’s confidence in Mayfield’s leadership on and off the field, noting his impact in the Tampa Bay community. Coach Todd Bowles added that Mayfield’s preparation and accountability set the tone for the team and that the franchise is “excited to continue building with him as our quarterback.”
In his first three seasons as the Buccaneers’ starter, Mayfield ranks second in the league in touchdown passes (95) and third in passing yards (12,237), and he has helped the team win two division titles.
