Sen. John Fetterman denied credible reports that he skipped important meetings with veterans and a children’s hospital, instead attacking whistleblowers and the press. While some Democrats criticized him, Republican Sen. Dave McCormick surprisingly defended Fetterman, highlighting internal chaos among Pennsylvania Democrats.
Sen. John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, is once again embroiled in controversy after leaked staff messages suggested he neglected his duties by skipping meetings with a children’s hospital and paralyzed veterans—groups deserving the utmost respect and attention. Rather than take responsibility, Fetterman went on CNN to dismiss the allegations, blaming 'disgruntled' staff and labeling the story a smear campaign, a typical tactic to deflect from his own failures.
'Per usual — lies, half-truths, innuendos, smears and anonymous,' Fetterman said, attempting to paint himself as the victim while ignoring the serious concerns raised about his commitment to his constituents.
The Wall Street Journal’s report also exposed Fetterman’s decision to appear on television instead of honoring fallen police officers at their funeral—a move that drew justified criticism from his own party. Yet, in a surprising twist, Republican Sen. Dave McCormick came to Fetterman’s defense, blaming anonymous staff leaks and suggesting a left-wing plot to silence Fetterman, further highlighting the dysfunction and infighting among Pennsylvania Democrats.
'These stories are the latest example of outrageously disloyal staff and forces on the Left using anonymous leaks to cancel my friend John Fetterman,' McCormick wrote on X, exposing the chaos within the Democratic ranks.
Fetterman, eager to distract from the controversy, claimed he would not oppose McCormick’s re-election and touted their joint fundraising and bipartisan activities, such as touring a chicken-processing plant. However, this does little to address the real issue: Fetterman’s lack of accountability. Even Democratic Rep. Chris Deluzio, a progressive, called Fetterman’s conduct 'pathetic' and questioned his sense of duty, signaling that Democrats themselves are looking for a replacement in 2028—a clear sign of Fetterman’s failing leadership.
