TSA PreCheck members can now access airport gates without tickets at select locations
The Transportation Security Administration has introduced a program allowing eligible TSA PreCheck members to pass through security and reach gates without a boarding pass at 13 airports, with plans to expand.
The Transportation Security Administration announced a new service that lets qualified TSA PreCheck members walk through security and enter the gate area without a boarding pass. The "Gateside by TSA PreCheck" program is being rolled out at 13 airports, including Los Angeles International, Dallas-Fort Worth International, Harry Reid International in Las Vegas and Salt Lake City International. Applicants must submit an online request one to three days before their visit and receive approval before arriving. Once approved, they can use a TSA PreCheck lane with a valid ID, and the pass is valid for a single calendar day, allowing re-entry the same day. The agency says members of other trusted-traveler programs who have a Known Traveler Number are also eligible to apply. TSA indicated that additional airports will be added in the coming months.
