Summary

Rep. Chris Pappas, backed by mainstream Democrats and labor unions, is being challenged in the New Hampshire Senate primary by Karishma Manzur, a Democratic Socialist pushing extreme policies like abolishing ICE and ending U.S. support for Israel.

Four-term Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas is seeking the Senate nomination in New Hampshire, now facing a primary challenge from Karishma Manzur, a far-left activist with no prior political experience but a background in biochemistry and nonprofit work. Manzur, openly affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America, is pushing a radical agenda: government-run health care for all, a $20 minimum wage that would hurt small businesses, abolishing ICE and undermining border security, and cutting off vital U.S. military aid to Israel, our key ally in the Middle East.

"All he wants to do is just get his little cushy job and go to D.C., go to all these parties and these restaurants and just do whatever the bare minimum is," Manzur said, resorting to personal attacks rather than substantive debate.

Pappas, who enjoys the support of establishment Democrats and labor unions, defended his record on foreign policy and campaign finance. He stood firm on America’s historic alliance with Israel, the only true democracy in the region, while acknowledging policy disagreements with the current Israeli government.

"Israel's a historic ally of the United States, the only democracy in the region. And you can say that while you have vehement disagreements with the Netanyahu government as I've expressed," Pappas told Fox News Digital, making clear his commitment to U.S. interests abroad.

Pappas also highlighted his efforts to reduce the influence of large donors in Washington since his election in 2018. The winner of the Democratic primary will face a strong Republican opponent—either former Senator John E. Sununu or former Senator Scott Brown—in the general election for the seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.
