Alex Gibney's Documentary 'Musk' to Premiere at Venice and Release in Theaters in October

Summary

Director Alex Gibney's nearly four-hour documentary on Elon Musk will debut at the Venice Film Festival, later screen in Toronto, and open in U.S. theaters on Oct. 16.

The documentary "Musk," directed by Alex Gibney, is set to premiere at the Venice International Film Festival before screening in Toronto. Produced by Anonymous Content, Jigsaw Productions, Double Agent and Closer Media, the film runs close to four hours and examines Elon Musk's business ventures and political activities.

According to an official synopsis, the film offers "an incisive look behind the legend of Elon Musk, the world’s most heralded ‘inventor-entrepreneur’ who has enormous influence on the world in which we all live." Anonymous Content CEO Darren Walker said the project's scope justifies its length, noting that other coverage tends to focus on a single aspect such as X, SpaceX or Tesla, whereas Gibney’s work takes a broader approach.

Bleecker Street will distribute the film, with a U.S. theatrical release scheduled for Friday, October 16.
