Green Lantern Episode 4 Reveals Manhunter Identity and Escalates Conflict
In the fourth episode of the series, the protagonists discover that Hector Hammond is a front for the true Manhunter, identified as Will Macon, leading to a confrontation that ends with the capture of the villains and a cliffhanger.
The latest episode of the Green Lantern series advances the storyline by confirming the identity of the intergalactic antagonist known as the Manhunter. After a flashback to 2016, Hal Jordan meets Sinestro, who warns him that the Manhunter’s core traits remain unchanged despite shapeshifting abilities. Sinestro also cautions Hal against repeating past mistakes with John Stewart.
John and Hal investigate a rural property owned by Will Macon, suspecting it hides a secret structure. They involve the local sheriff, who agrees to assist despite limited knowledge of the Manhunter. Meanwhile, the Guardians pressure John to recite the Green Lantern oath, indicating he will assume the mantle for Sector 2814.
John and Hal infiltrate Macon’s compound using a drill created by the ring, but an alarm triggers a security response that captures them. In Macon’s office, John is asked to draw a nude portrait of Macon, revealing personal connections between Macon, his nurse Zoe, and the town’s benefactor who cured Macon’s cancer.
After escaping, John and Hal confront Hector Hammond, who initially claims to be the Manhunter but is exposed as a decoy. Using Sinestro-provided intel about Manhunter heart signatures, Hal forces Hammond to admit he is merely a front for the real Manhunter, identified as Will Macon.
The episode ends with John and Hal planning to confront Macon’s forces, while tensions rise between the characters over trust and past actions.
"The ring's always been mine," John says, reflecting his frustration with the Guardians.
"I really did forgive you," Hal states, indicating a tentative reconciliation.
