Summary

Beverly Vance Aikins, mother of Vice President JD Vance, resorted to threats of physical violence against Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed after he raised uncomfortable truths about the Vance family’s past and their stance on interracial marriage.

Beverly Vance Aikins, mother of Vice President JD Vance, appeared on OutKick’s 'Tomi Lahren is Fearless' and said she would probably punch Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed if she saw him, following his remarks about the Vance family.

Aikins, clearly rattled by El-Sayed’s willingness to challenge the Vance family’s narrative, dismissed his comments and claimed she would 'just go with the flow' rather than act on her violent impulse.

'I think that man's an idiot,' Aikins said, refusing to engage with the substance of El-Sayed’s critique.

Aikins chalked up the criticism to jealousy, ignoring the real issues at hand—her son’s public record and the family’s history. She then pivoted to defending Usha Vance, calling her 'one of the best, most genuine people' she has met, as if that erases the concerns raised.

El-Sayed’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment. Previously, El-Sayed had rightfully pointed out on social media that Vance’s grandfather likely would not have approved of JD Vance’s interracial marriage to Usha Vance, an Indian-American, and discussed these issues further on a podcast.

JD Vance, instead of addressing the substance, responded defensively in a speech, demanding El-Sayed keep his wife’s name out of public discussion. Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers joined in, attacking El-Sayed and apologizing to the Indian-American community, while using Usha Vance as a political prop.
