Trump claims weather at Ohio rally disproves wig rumors amid hair speculation
President Trump said strong wind at a March Ohio rally proved he does not wear a wig, but photos from the event show him wearing a cap, contradicting his account.
President Donald Trump addressed recent speculation about his hair during a Rose Garden appearance, saying a windy rally in Ohio demonstrated that he does not wear a wig. He recalled speaking at a Buckeye Values PAC event near Dayton International Airport on March 16, describing the wind as so strong that teleprompters were blown off the stage. Trump added that if he wore a wig it would have been blown away quickly, implying the incident proved his hair is natural.
Reporters noted that photographs from the rally show Trump wearing a red MAGA baseball cap, a detail that conflicts with his description of the event. The president’s hair has been a frequent subject of public commentary, including previous remarks on a 2016 Tonight Show appearance where host Jimmy Fallon touched his hair, and earlier reports describing the styling process used by his family.
"I went up to the speaker, and it was blowing so hard. You know, for years, I had to suffer with people saying, ‘He wears a wig.’ I don’t wear a wig. But that night, they found out I did not wear a wig because if you did, it was not gonna be on your head very long," Trump said.
The discrepancy between Trump’s recollection and visual evidence has reignited discussion about the president’s hairstyle, which has been examined in prior media coverage and family statements.
