Former 49ers Impostor Daejon Love Faces Small-Claims Judgments Over Unpaid Loans
Two Sacramento County small-claims lawsuits allege that self-styled 49ers player Daejon Love failed to repay loans totaling over $14,000, resulting in court orders for payment.
Court documents show that Daejon Love, who has claimed to be a San Francisco 49ers player, was sued in Sacramento County small-claims court in 2020 and 2021 over unpaid personal loans. In the 2020 case, plaintiff Olivia Datu said Love borrowed $4,900, including $1,200 for a credit-card payment and $3,700 for work on a Dodge vehicle, and later defaulted on repayment.
A year later, Makayla Fama filed a suit alleging Love borrowed $10,000 after claiming he had lost his wallet and could not access cash. The complaint listed Love under the name Jonathan Love and added Aaron Campbell, who was said to have handled some of the transfers.
The court ordered Love to pay Fama $7,461, with an additional $2,539 jointly owed by Love and Campbell.
Prosecutors have also charged Love with posing as a wealthy investor and a 49ers player while allegedly defrauding 26 women of approximately $1.3 million, a claim supported by video evidence of him displaying cash and discussing fictitious contracts.
