Apple raises Apple TV and Apple One subscription prices

Summary

Apple increased the monthly fee for its Apple TV streaming service to $14.99 and lifted the individual Apple One bundle to $21.95, marking the latest price adjustments for the company's media offerings.

Apple announced a price increase for its Apple TV streaming service on Friday, raising the monthly cost from $12.99 to $14.99 and the annual fee from $99 to $119. The company also adjusted the price of its Apple One bundle, which combines Apple TV with iCloud storage, Apple Music and Apple Arcade, to $21.95 per month for individual users, up from $19.95.

The Apple TV price hike follows a previous increase a year ago that moved the monthly fee from $9.99 to $12.99. Since its launch in 2019 at $4.99 per month, Apple TV’s price has risen several times. The service offers original series such as “Ted Lasso,” “The Morning Show,” “Severance,” and exclusive content including the Charlie Brown specials and Formula 1 racing.

Apple Music also saw a price rise in July, climbing from $10.99 to $11.99 per month. The adjustments come as Apple reported a record June quarter with revenue of $109.4 billion, surpassing analysts’ expectations, driven by strong iPhone and Mac sales and tariff refunds that added roughly 5 % to profit.

"Apple reported a record June quarter with $109.4 billion in revenue, which beat analysts’ estimates of $108.65 billion," the company’s earnings release stated.

Industry analysts note that Apple joins other streaming providers—including Peacock, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney+, Paramount+, Max and YouTube Premium—that have raised prices in recent years.
