Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs charged with misdemeanor battery after garage incident
Josh Jacobs faces misdemeanor battery and property damage charges after prosecutors say surveillance video supports his ex-girlfriend's account of an altercation in his Wisconsin garage.
District Attorney David L. Lasee announced that surveillance footage from a garage at Jacobs' Wisconsin residence corroborates the statement of his ex-girlfriend, identified in the police report as “ANM,” who said Jacobs grabbed her, threw her to the ground and took her phone. The report notes that the woman suffered a bump on the back of her head and reported pain.
"The surveillance video further shows Jacobs took ANM’s phone while she was on the floor of the garage, and approximately 40 seconds later, Jacobs returns to the garage and appears to damage ANM’s phone," Lasee said.
The video, recorded on May 23, 2026, between 8:30 a.m. and 8:38 a.m., has not been released to the public. Jacobs turned himself in three days after the incident and has been charged with one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of criminal damage to property. His attorneys said the charges do not include domestic-violence offenses and that the case will be addressed in court.
The Green Bay Packers confirmed they are aware of the matter and are cooperating with the NFL, which said it is monitoring the situation. Jacobs, who has participated in training camp and preseason activities, could face additional league discipline if the video becomes public.
