Golf Channel pulls Big Break season after sponsor controversy
The Golf Channel cancelled the 2026 season of its reality series Big Break following the loss of its presenting sponsor amid a disputed advertisement, postponing the show's return to 2027.
The Golf Channel announced it will not air the fully filmed 2026 season of its reality competition series Big Break, citing recent developments involving the show's sponsor Good Good. In a statement the network said the intended outcome of the series can no longer be fulfilled and that it looks forward to bringing the program back in 2027.
Big Break, which originally aired from 2003 to 2015, was set to return in a collaboration with the YouTube golf group Good Good. The premiere, scheduled for Tuesday evening, was delayed by a week after Golf Galaxy, the presenting sponsor owned by Dick’s Sporting Goods, withdrew its endorsement. The series has now been cancelled entirely, and the identity of the winner has not been disclosed.
The planned prize for the winner was an exemption into the Good Good Championship, a PGA Tour event slated for November 12-15. After a controversial Good Good/Callaway Golf advertisement drew criticism, the PGA Tour removed Good Good as the title sponsor, though the tournament will proceed without the brand and without the Big Break winner in the field.
The disputed ad featured Good Good golfer Alexis Miestowski reaching for a co-founder’s driver, after which the co-founder, Garrett Clark, pushed her away and warned her not to touch the driver. Both Clark and Good Good CEO Matt Kendrick said the spot was meant as a parody of the 2026 film "Obsession" and have since apologized.
The programming partnership between Golf Channel and Good Good began in 2023.
