Cast and Crew Hold Private Screening of 'Coyote vs. Acme' After Release Delays

Summary

The team behind the live-action/animation comedy 'Coyote vs. Acme' staged a private screening while the film was uncertain to be released, before it was acquired by Ketchup Entertainment for an August 28 theatrical debut.

The producers of the Warner Bros. live-action-animation comedy "Coyote vs. Acme" organized a private showing in Los Angeles after the project was shelved and appeared unlikely to reach audiences. The screening, described by star Lana Condor as a somber moment for the crew, was intended to share the unfinished film with friends and industry colleagues.

Director Dave Green said he repeatedly feared the movie would never be released, but noted that the gathering took on a celebratory tone, likening it to a New Orleans funeral with music and a party atmosphere. He added that the event allowed cast members, including Condor and co-star Will Forte, to view the final cut for the first time.

Warner Bros. had placed the title in its vault before Ketchup Entertainment acquired the rights in March 2025 and scheduled a theatrical release for August 28.
