49ers linebacker says team has not discussed owner Jed York's legal case
Linebacker Fred Warner said the San Francisco 49ers have not talked about owner Jed York's arrest and plea in the locker room, emphasizing the team's focus on football preparations.
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner told reporters that while players are aware of owner Jed York's recent arrest and no-contest plea on a solicitation charge, the matter has not been a topic of discussion among the team. Warner said the squad is concentrating on preparing for the upcoming season and on players competing for roster spots, and that personal issues are being kept private.
"We’re all aware, we all have social media so we see things," Warner said. "But at the same time, I have a lot of respect for Jed and don’t feel the need to comment on the situation. It really wasn’t a conversation being had in the locker room. We’re hyper-focused on trying to prepare for Week One. A lot of guys are on the bubble, trying to make the team. We’re just trying to get better as a football team, and that personal situation, let it stay personal with him."
