Left-wing streamer Hasan Piker’s inflammatory warning about American Jews’ support for Israel has drawn sharp condemnation from Michigan Democrats, highlighting the growing influence of radical anti-Israel rhetoric within the party.
During a livestream on Aug. 20, far-left streamer Hasan Piker made an alarming statement, suggesting that if American Jews continue to be seen as strongly supporting Israel, 'someone’s going to come around and take action, not against the state of Israel – mind you – but against American Jews.' Piker’s reckless comment came while discussing an audio recording that allegedly captured Democratic state Sen. Jeremy Moss saying his career’s purpose is to ensure U.S. support for Israel. Moss, a Jewish Democrat and nominee for Michigan’s 11th Congressional District, firmly denied the statement and said the recording was fabricated, yet the damage from such radical rhetoric was already done.
Rep. Hillary Scholten, a Michigan Democrat, rightly condemned Piker’s remarks as a threat toward Moss and American Jews, calling the comments 'unacceptable.' Scholten also criticized Piker’s toxic influence on politics, warning that such rhetoric fuels antisemitism and division. Piker, instead of apologizing, lashed out on X, accusing Scholten of defaming an anti-Zionist voice to sway the Senate race, further exposing the extremism festering within the left.
Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers echoed the condemnation, demanding that Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed disavow Piker. El-Sayed, wary of alienating the party’s radical base, issued a tepid statement distancing himself from the streamer’s comments, condemning antisemitism but quickly pivoting to typical Democratic talking points on gas prices, education, and health care, failing to take a strong stand against the dangerous rhetoric in his own ranks.
This controversy erupts as Michigan’s Senate race heats up, highlighting the Democratic Party’s internal chaos and the growing threat posed by radical voices who undermine support for America’s closest allies and fuel antisemitic sentiments.
